I've always wanted a herb garden, but since this isn't our "forever" house, I knew I had to get creative. I wanted to keep with the rustic-modern feel of our house, but how was I going to do it? I had rustic planters, so that part was easy. But the modern part was a challenge. Then it hit me. We had a vintage Steelcase cabinet in the garage! Bam. I knew I was onto something. Not only would I have a space for my herbs, but I'd also have a place to store my gardening tools. Perfect.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the end result. Now, I'd love to know how you display your herbs...or if you have any advice for keeping lavender alive!

Love this! I've always wanted an herb garden, but have never done it. Maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteI have my herbs in pots. If you cut the basil back right above the second set of leaves it will grow shorter and wider. The same thing with the rosemary, the more you cut herbs the better they grow :) It looks like your doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Been wanting to plant some and keep them on our fire escape here in the city :)
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely get an herb garden next year!
ReplyDeleteHerbs on a fire escape would be AMAZING! You should definitely do it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had no idea that would help them grow. I feel like my herbs take forever! Thanks so much for the advice! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you find out how to keep your lavender alive, please let me know! Mine died. Total bummer. As for my herbs; they sit in a cedar box. I have thought about growing them in pots next year. We'll see. Yours look lovely, btw!!
ReplyDeleteI swear lavender is just impossible to keep alive!
