I've always loved tanning. Whether I'm laying out in the sun or laying in a tanning bed, I love it. Here's the thing though, I know how bad it is, and I'm not willing to chance it. So I stick to sunless tanning. Unfortunately, so many self tanners can make you look like an Oompa Loompa, dirty and let's not forget how streaky they can make you.
Trust me when I say, I've spent plenty of time walking around like Snookie, trying to find the perfect sunless tan. After a little trial and error, I finally got it right.
PRODUCTS
Sun Labs: This one is a close second for me. It has a bronzer, so you get an instant tan, which I think we all love. It also goes on like butter, and won't leave you smelling like tanning lotion...another plus.
Jergens Natural Glow: I know, I know. You see the name, and think of that horrid smell. Good news! It no longer smells bad. I use this stuff about once a week and love the buildable color. When it comes to this stuff, just remember- too much of a good thing can make you orange.
St. Tropez: This one is a bit of a splurge, but it's great. It goes on smooth, looks great and did I mention it doesn't smell? It gives a beautiful warm glow that's perfect for summer. If you're willing to spend the money, you won't be disappointed.
A FEW TIPS
There is no such thing as too much exfoliation. Before I "tan", I use a good scrub. You want all that dry skin gone, so don't be shy. Next, I use a good body butter on all my dry areas (elbows, knees, etc). I apply the lotion evenly, and when it comes time to do my back, I put the lotion on a towel and rub it on by back. Trust me, it's easier than it sounds. The key to making your tan last is definitely moisturize. Get a good body butter and use it like crazy.
I hope this helps!!
